Become a member/affiliate of the SBA

Being part of the SBA is definitely worthwhile because we discuss important themes related to trends in the industry and in regulations and standards. These can only be resolved by working together in a collaborative way, since these challenges are bigger than a single company can handle by themselves.

The value of joining the SBA

  • As a member of the SBA, you will be part of an organisation that aims to maintain, promote and seek to improve product quality and quality standards relating to the manufacture and supply of single use sterilisation barrier systems for the healthcare industry.
  • The SBA provides a forum within which manufacturers of such products and services can discuss issues relevant to the industry. We aim to consider all legislative measures and proposals that may affect the industry, and agree which proposals to address.
  • The SBA also works to establish and maintain links with European and non-European legislative and regulatory bodies, related trade associations, and users, and to cooperate with such organisations as necessary on any matter which may affect the industry.
  • You will have the opportunity to promote and influence the harmonisation of standards, practices and procedures within our industry in Europe, and to endeavour to extend that influence into other non-European regions.
  • The SBA aims to act as the European industry voice for sterile barrier systems on all relevant matters and at all levels.

There are two ways to become part of the SBA: as a Full Member or as an Affiliate to the SBA.

Complete the Become a member form

Fill in the Become a member form below and send it to us.

Discuss your application with the Director General

After submitting your completed Become a member form, our Director General will get in touch with you to discuss your application and your interest in becoming involved with the SBA. We may request further information, if necessary.

Present your company at an SBA conference

If you fulfill the necessary criteria and your application is accepted, then the next step is to present your company to the SBA members at one of our conferences. These take place twice a year.

5. Members of the SBA vote on membership

After your presentation, SBA members will discuss your application and then vote on whether to accept your company as a member/affiliate. Note that the vote will typically take place at the following conference.

Welcome to the SBA

If all goes well, we’ll inform you that your application has been accepted. Upon payment of the annual membership fee, we’ll delighted to welcome you as a member or affiliate, and we will look forward to your participation in furthering our mission.
