The SBA Board of Directors

Thibaut has led the Sterimed Group since 2010 and been a Director of the SBA since 2013. President & CEO at Sterimed, a global leader in sterilisation packaging substrates manufacturing and converting, he was previously CFO of Arjowiggins,  and prior to that, a senior executive in the large cap private equity industry.

He is married with three children and enjoys piloting small aircrafts and testing good wines.

Ralph Basile has over 30 years experience in the sterile processing field. He is a member of AAMI & ASTM, co-chair of 2 AAMI Work Groups, a chair of 2 ASTM subcommittees and is a U.S. Delegate and Expert to ISO/TC198. He has been a member of the SBA beginning in 2019. He is actively involved in standards development, including standards related to sterile barrier packaging.

Mayte has worked in the medical packaging industry since she first qualified in Commerce and Management, joining Bolsaplast in 2005 as Sales Manager for the newly formed medical division. Mayte brought Bolsaplast to the SBA in 2015 becoming a Director in 2018. She chairs the Education Committee. Mayte qualified as a Corporate business mentor in 2021, working with Women entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Tanja Venäläinen has 24 years of experience in Quality and Regulatory roles in different industries, latest 14 years in Medical Device Industry in QA/RA -manager roles. Familiar with ISO 13485 and  conformity assessment according to MDR 2017/745 as well as related standards. Member of HealthTech Finland and MedTech Finland (Sailab).

Thierry Wagner has worked for DuPont for over 30 years and is Global Director, Regulatory & Standards – Healthcare Packaging, DuPont. In 2017 he became chairman of the SBA, having served as a director since 2009. He is convenor of ISO/TC 198/WG7 “Sterilization of Health Care Products—Packaging” and CEN/ TC 102/WG4 “Sterilizers and associated equipment for processing of medical devices – Packaging”. He chairs also the Regulatory Committee of the SBA.

Christian Wolf studied production engineering (Dipl. Ing.) and business administration with focus on corporate management (Dipl. Betriebswirt) at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne.
He has been working in the family business since 1999 and became managing director at hawo in 2006.
Christian is active in various standard committees, associations and boards.

Nina Tillaeus MSc (Eng) has a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management. She has been working in the medical packaging industry since 2009 in various positions at marketing, product management and business development. She was a member of the ISO and CEN committees for several years, and since 2010 has also been an active member of the SBA. She is the CEO at Tillacon Ltd Oy and now since August 2023 the Director General of the Sterile Barrier Association.
